1. What changes are being made to All Hallows Eve and why?

We have reimagined the All Hallows Eve experience and transitioned many of the event’s activities outdoors to help preserve and protect our historic buildings and artifacts. Stops inside our smaller capacity buildings will no longer be available including the Martin Mitchell Mansion. The event will continue to provide indoor performances in our historic buildings that have larger capacities including Century Memorial Chapel, the Carriage House, and the Meeting House. All Hallows Eve was originally conceptualized and created in 2004, and in its first year, the event welcomed 2,000 visitors. Since that time, All Hallows Eve has seen significant growth and has become a Halloween tradition for many local families. In 2022, the event welcomed over 5,500 visitors and over 125 volunteers. 2. What is the recommended age for visitors to All Hallows Eve?

All Hallows Eve is recommended for families with children 16 and under. Each experience has a “scare factor” recommendation that can be viewed near the activity’s entrance and inside the All Hallows Eve event guide available at the event’s entrance. 

For adults 21+, please visit us the following weekend, October 21-22 for Howlin’ at the Moon. 

3. Can I wear my Halloween costume or mask to All Hallows Eve?

No Halloween costumes or masks are permitted at All Hallows Eve for the safety of our visitors and staff. 

4. How do I become a volunteer?

5. What happens if it rains?

All Naperville Heritage Society events take place rain or shine. However, in the case of unsafe weather - lightning, tornado, etc., Naper Settlement will close the grounds and cancel the event for the safety of its visitors. All ticket sales are final. No refunds, exchanges, or rain checks will be given in the event of inclement weather. Dated tickets may not be exchanged.  All events and prices are subject to change without notice. Special event rates may vary.  

6. Where should I park?

Free parking is available in the Municipal Parking Garage on the corner of Eagle and Aurora and in the Naper Settlement visitor's lot on Porter Avenue and Webster Street.

8. Please read our Event Policies

Event Policies

Naperville Heritage Society Special Events have additional policies to the Naper Settlement's museum policy.

• All patrons must prepare and complete a bag check.  Patrons who choose not to subject their personal items to a security search will not be permitted to enter the park.  Tickets will not be refunded.
  
• Photographs may be taken and used in promotional materials. Professional photo/video/audio equipment will not be permitted unless approved by Naper Settlement.
• No outside food or drinks. One factory-sealed bottle of unflavored water or one empty beverage container (no glass) per person is permitted.
• No pets are allowed. Service Animals are permitted.
• Smoking and vaping are permitted in designated areas only.
• Weapons of any kind, including toy weapons are NOT permitted. Conceal and carry is not permitted, including concealed licensed or off-duty officers.
• Additional prohibited items include: Explosives; tents, canopies, and umbrellas larger than 6’ diameter; grills, open flames or firepits; drones; sporting equipment including balls or discs; and bicycles, scooters or skates.
• No costumes are allowed.
