"Many know that Andrea Beaty – the super-famous New York Times best-selling children’s book author – lives right here in Naperville. Many know that two of her Questioneer series of books Rosie Revere, Engineer and Ada Twist, Scientist have been taken up in space where astronauts read aloud to kids with Story Time From Space (STFS)! Andrea Beaty is a strong promoter of literacy worldwide, by supporting public libraries, book stores, and, of course, education. She is a huge advocate for empowering girls and young women. We see these themes throughout her many books:  You can DO IT!

But many won’t know that Andrea is deeply concerned about the environment, our country, and our civil liberties. Andrea is someone who doesn’t just write the wordsshe walks the talk in her daily actions, leading by example. She is converting her lawn to clover, to help sustain bees. She is writing postcards daily to random citizens, informing them their voice can be heard if they just speak up. She is actively involved in ensuring our voting rights are not compromised.

Andrea engages – with tons of humor and a dash of grace – with everyone/anyone, about why and how we need to leave our planet better for future generations. I have spent not nearly enough time being educated and humored by this amazing gem of a lady: she is a treasure map of information and ideas for a sustainable future. We are so fortunate to have her as our neighbor. Right here in Naperville."
