"Ruth Ladd was born in Naperville in 1904. Later in her life, she received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from North Central College. She worked a decade after college as a legal secretary for a Chicago law firm. She served as an election judge for many years throughout her life. She was an avid bridge player. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Daughters of the American Revolution, conducted genealogical research, and published three books. She passed away in 2013 at the age of 108 years old."
