HERstory Nomination Aruna Davis

"It gives me immense pleasure to nominate an inspirational fellow Naperville resident Aruna Davis, who is the founder of “Learn To Write Now” (LTWN) - a one-stop-shop ELA educational service.

From their flagship location in South Naperville, she and her fellow teachers have been helping students across the country improve their writing and English language skills by working with them to organize their thoughts and reflect on wider perspectives. Besides this, Aruna continues to volunteer her time to several educational causes and is an active member of the PTA in her children's schools, where she served in many leadership roles including the President.

So many of Aruna's students have benefited from her coaching and guidance. Many are students at Ivy League institutions and other esteemed universities across the country.

Aruna gave up a corporate job to pursue her passion for education and inspire kids of all ages to write with confidence. She envisions a world with citizens who can effectively communicate for the greater good and she also pens her thoughts on her personal Facebook page on a variety of subjects which are highly inspiring.

While she loves words and wordplay, she also believes that at moments, a picture is worth a thousand words. On that note, her fun pursuits include photography and her passion for Indian textiles.

She is my "S"hero since she makes a difference in our community one student at a time!!"
