"Deirdre Danielle (Finzer) Read is a 5th generation Napervillian; graduate of Naperville North High School; the University of Salamanca Spain (Spanish minor summer study program) and Indiana University (Bloomington, IN.) While at I.U. she was the photo editor of the Indiana Daily Student (IDS) campus newspaper (34,000 students enrolled). Post-graduation she moved to New York City where her first job was with InStyle magazine. She also worked for the iconic Pulitzer Prize winning photographer Eddie Adams; spent 2 years in Washington, D.C. photo editing for National Geographic; and has been the photo research editor for the Oprah "O" magazine for the last 7 and half years. It was her bold "think outside of the box" courageous suggestion to the Oprah mag staff to put Breonna Taylor on the cover of the September issue (BLACK LIVES MATTER). Deirdre is a true trailblazer. She and her 10-year-old son live in Brooklyn, NY."
