Adventures Into the Past - July 2022 Schedule

Blast back in history with Adventures Into the Past at Naper Settlement! Each month there will be a different theme with crafts, activities, and demonstrations pertaining to the theme. July’s theme is Childhood. What was it like to be a child in the 1800s? We invite kids of all ages to play and work as children in the past. From farm chores at the Log House to games on the Mansion lawn, what it meant to be a child changed significantly during this century.

Learn about childhood in the 19th century from farm and factory work to tea parties and teddy bears with Naper Settlement’s Curator of Research, Andrea Field, Ph.D., during various lectures throughout July. Visitors will also view historic photographs and learn more about their lives.
