Celebrate Naperville showcases the City's vibrant residents in conjunction with the signature exhibit of the year. 

In 2019, celebrate the many facets of Indian American heritage through art, music, dance and food on our grounds and in our historic buildings! Held in conjunction with the exhibit Beyond Bollywood: Indian Americans Shape the Nation.

2PM                 Sikh History and Turban Tying demonstration with Roger Chawla and Thakar S. Basati
2:30PM          Pop-Up Performance by Rhythms and Grace Dance Studio
2:45PM          Fashion Show by Saris and Things

Ongoing Activities

  • Beyond Bollywood: Indian Americans Shape the Nation exhibition tours with Amar Anumakonda in the Pre-Emption House galleries
  • Historic Building Tours with building interpreters and volunteer-led activities throughout the grounds
  • Book signing with author Sonali Dev on the Village Green
  • Cricket Q&A and demonstration with the Knights 11 Cricket Team on the Village Green
  • Mehndi (henna) hand painting and authentic Indian accessories for purchase by Neelam Akhand
  • OM by Neha presents hands-on arts and crafts on the Village Green
  • Hijab Wrapping demonstration on the Village Green

Event Policies

Naperville Heritage Society Special Events have additional policies to the Naper Settlement's museum policy.

Photographs may be taken and used in promotional materials.

No pets are allowed. Service Animals are permitted.


The entrance to the festival will be through the Pre-Emption House Visitor Center. Free parking is available in the Municipal Parking Garage on the corner of Eagle and Aurora and in the Naper Settlement visitor's lot on Porter Avenue and Webster Street.

Inclement Weather

All Naperville Heritage Society events take place rain or shine. However, in the case of unsafe weather - lightning, tornado, etc. - Naper Settlement will close the grounds and cancel the event for the safety of its patrons.
