Location

Naper Settlement is located 28 miles west of Chicago, close to interstates 88, 355 and 55. The museum is situated two blocks south of Jefferson Avenue, two blocks west of Washington Street, at the southwest corner of Aurora Avenue and Webster Street and across from the City of Naperville Municipal Center.

Directions

From the East

Take the Eisenhower Expressway west or the Tri-State Tollway (I-294) to the Ronald Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88) toward Aurora. Exit at Naperville Road and make a left turn at the end of the exit ramp onto Freedom Drive. Take the 3rd right onto E Diehl Road. Turn left onto N Washington Street. Turn right at the stoplight on Aurora Avenue and go two blocks to Webster Street. Turn left on Webster Street and proceed one block for parking.

From the West

Take the Ronald Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88) east toward Chicago. Exit at Winfield Road and turn right (south) at the end of the ramp. Proceed to the stoplight at Diehl Road and turn left (east) to Washington Street. Turn right on Washington Street and proceed south into downtown Naperville. At the stoplight at Aurora Avenue, turn right and go west two blocks to Webster Street. Turn left on Webster Street and proceed one block for parking.

From the North

Take Route 59 south to Aurora Avenue.

Please note: Aurora Avenue turns into East New York Street west of Route 59. Turn left (east) on Aurora Avenue, proceeding to Webster Street. Turn right on Webster Street and proceed one block for parking.

From the South

Take the Stevenson Expressway (I-55) to I-355 North (Veterans Memorial Tollway). Exit at Maple Avenue West. Proceed about seven miles into downtown Naperville. Maple Avenue will turn into Chicago Avenue after Naper Boulevard. Turn left (south) at Washington Street, and go one block to Aurora Avenue. Turn right (west) onto Aurora Avenue. Go two blocks to Webster Street, turn left and continue one block for parking.

Parking

Free Naper Settlement parking is located at the southwest corner of Porter Avenue and Webster Street. There is also free parking after 5:00 pm and on weekends on the upper level of the Municipal Center parking lot just north of Naper Settlement or on the west side of Webster Street.

Accessible parking is available at:

  • Century Memorial Chapel parking lot on Aurora Avenue just east of the Chapel
  • Municipal Center parking lot at Webster Street and Aurora Avenue (evenings after 5 PM and weekends only)
  • Water Street District parking lot at 120 Water Street is free to park after 5 AM on Levels 3 to 6.
  • Naper Settlement main parking lot at the southwest corner of Porter Avenue and Webster Street

Bus Drop-Off & Parking

When turning south onto Webster Street, the drop-off lane is immediately on the right in a curb cut-out area marked for unloading. Once unloaded, buses can proceed south on Webster Street one block and turn right to park in the designated area on the north side of Porter Avenue. Please note: The City of Naperville prohibits the parking of buses in the parking lot located at Webster Street and Porter Avenue and will issue parking tickets.

Wedding, Shopping & Temporary Drop-Off / Parking

The Century Memorial Chapel parking lot is located on Aurora Avenue a half block west of Webster Street and adjacent to the Visitor Center. This lot is designated for use by wedding guests, individuals requiring accessible parking and quick drop-offs to the Visitor Center. Catering trucks and other passenger drop-off is available on Webster Street adjacent to the Visitor Center in the curb cut-out area on the west side of the street. Please use vehicle flashers in this drop-off zone. Overflow parking for wedding guests and all others is available in the main parking lot on Porter Avenue and Webster Street or in the municipal parking lot across the street from the chapel. Street parking is available on Webster Street, with designated time parameters posted.
