Benefits
Naper Settlement invites your classroom to step into the past and join us for a lesson in Northern Illinois heritage. Our unique school programs provide an opportunity for students to experience what they usually only study in textbooks. History lessons come alive at Naper Settlement, with sights and sounds of the 19th and early 20th centuries. Our programs also fulfill many Illinois learning standards in the social science category.
Features
Our museum campus is filled with a variety of historic homes, shops, businesses, and exhibit areas including the Log House, Blacksmith Shop and Copenhagen Schoolhouse, to name a few. Costumed interpreters bring these buildings to life as they recreate the time of our earliest settlers to turn-of-the-century Victorian opulence, providing insights into daily life, work, or school days. Check out our learning brochure below to see how our variety of programs, in and out of the classroom, can immerse your students in history!
