Naperville, Ill. —The lantern-lit grounds of Naper Settlement are the setting for creepy, bloodthirsty creatures of the night lurking in the shadows during All Hallows Eve: A 19th Century Halloween to be held from 6:30-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 24-25.
Leaping from the pages of 19th century gothic horror novels and from the sensational headlines of long-ago newspapers, the most sinister characters of the past come to life. Terrifying scenes await you in the historic buildings where there is no escape from your deepest fears. Gather around the campfire to hear stories of the dead come back to haunt the living. Tread carefully in the cemetery before arriving at the haunted mansion where you'll see what the butler really did. The last laugh will be on you in the Funhouse. Experience the 13-acre village filled with fright, fun, fantasy and fear.
"Each year, our 'Scream Team' is challenged to develop and find entertainment based on 19th century history," said Education Event Coordinator Maureen Malloy. "We think All Hallows Eve is going to be even scarier than ever this year with the addition of the Funhouse and the other activities that make our event so unique."
