Harness Snap Hook
Beckman Harness Snap Hook This small metal snap hook was used to quickly attach and/or release leather harnesses to horses. This invention, created and patented in
1863 by Naperville native Philip Beckman, was a time saving device.  
     
Beckman owned a leather goods and harness shop located on the northwest corner of Washington and Chicago in downtown Naperville.
