Hannah Ditzler Alspaugh Fabric Diary
This fabric diary is one of several scrapbooks created by Naperville resident, Hannah Ditzler Alspaugh (1848-1938).
Each piece of fabric was carefully sewn onto the pages and given a brief description. The descriptions can include information like: where the fabric was purchased, who made the dress, who wore the dress, when it was worn, or when it was re-made. The colors, textures, and variety of fabrics are a glimpse into Naperville’s past.
