Naperville Home Coming

Naperville Home Coming

2017 marks the 100th anniversary of the Naperville Home Coming celebration. It was held May 29 to June 1, 1917. The four day celebration was held to show civic pride for Naperville, and each of the days had a different theme- Old Citizen’s Day, Patriotic Day, School and Church Day & Community Day

Over a year in the planning, the celebration was created by the Naperville Association of Commerce, as they felt it was important to highlight all the wonderful things Naperville had to offer. They even wrote a book touting Naperville and all of its amenities.

These postcard images were taken by Naperville photographer Charles Koretke at the parade held on June 1, 1917.
