Trades Day

Sunday, July 26

Discover trades and crafts from the past to the present. Visit with artists and tradesmen still producing goods and services, such as the blacksmith, quilter, needle felter and more. Test your own crafting skills and bring home a do-it-yourself souvenir. (Some activities may require a small fee)

Timed events include:
  • Musical Performance with Kevin Presbrey: 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. (Paw Post Office porch) Rain location: Chapel
  • Fire Pumper Demo: 3:15 p.m. (Firehouse)
  • Butter Churning: 1:30 p.m. (Paw Post Office porch)
  • Settlement Sundays: 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. (Hill up to Mansion) Rain location: Tavern
  • Bert the Barber Demonstration: 1:45 p.m. (Daniel’s House side yard)

Demonstrations include:
  • Dr. B. with the Belfry Bees (Outside the Bandstand)
  • Esther’s Place Fibers - Felting Demonstrations
  • Blackhawk Woodworkers
  • Isis Perez - Spinning Demonstrations
  • L.A.C.E. lacemaking guild – Lacing Demonstrations
  • Riverwalk Quilters Guild – Quilting Demonstrations
  • Veronica Porter - Preservation and Canning Demonstrations

For our younger guests:
  • “Become an Apprentice” Challenge
  • Try It! Stations
  • The Harvard Early Learning Playscape (including the splash pad) will remain open.
